With signing the donation documents to earthquake-affected areas in Sichuan province by Cisco Executive Director, who is in charge of 'Connecting Sichuan' program, and Director of Sichuan Provincial Health Department, Bingyue Yan, the first project of Cisco-supported post-disaster reconstruction, the Rehabilitation Advisory Network and Mobile medical vehicles have been transferred to Sichuan Province People's Hospital, which is the first Cisco reconstruction project completed with the participation of ECCOM.
May 12, 2008, 2:28 p.m. the terrible eight magnitude earthquake happened in Wenchuan. Cisco donated 300 million RMB for the reconstruction in Sichuan. ECCOM co-operated the first medical assistance with Cisco in 'Connecting Sichuan' project.
Rehabilitation Advisory Network and medical vehicle projects deploy TP, wireless and communications systems mainly among three nodes: Chengdu, Hong Kong and the Cisco donated medical vehicle. Carried a mobile TP in the medical vehicle, the psychological rehabilitation experts from Hong Kong Youth Foundation, physical rehabilitation experts from Sichuan Province People's Hospital and other medical specialist can provide the people of disaster-affected areas with timely professional medical services.
Upon completion of the project, it has given rise to attention. Several government leaders of Sichuan Province, President and Vice President of Cisco Systems, the Mainland Affairs Director of Hong Kong government visited the medical vehicle and TP equipments of this project. It is believed that the system will serve more people in disaster-affected areas by providing mental / physical rehabilitation counseling in the future.
ECCOM committed to the project’s overall network integration. Under the unified coordination of the company, technical teams from different cities co-operated well with a high social responsibility and strived to contribute to the reconstruction in earthquake-affected areas.
