2010 Cisco’s first Technical Elite Partner Tournament for the Greater China region officially launched on June 1st, with the event lasting close to two months. The tournament covered topics such as Cisco’s three Architecture Plays, Cisco Services, and Partner Enablement and had a total of 841 teams sign up— three times the amount over previous tournament constituting the largest turnout in the history of the tournament.
Over the course of the 15 days preliminaries 110 teams qualified for the semi-finals, which was followed by a second round of more intense competition. As the tournament entered the last stages only eight teams remained, with ECCOM engineers Fu Lei and Chen Wei Xi of Team Gambol easily securing a spot in the finals.
On August 4th, 2010, teams fiercely competed at the tournament finals held at the Suzhou Kempinski Hotel. After nearly one hour of intense competition, ECCOM’s Team Gambol won the Greater China championship through their strong technical expertise and beat out the remaining opponents.
This was the second win for the ECCOM team since 2008 demonstrating ECCOM engineer’s strong technical capabilities, as well as their in-depth knowledge of Cisco products and technologies.
