On September 26, 2008, Cisco published a thank-you letter from Mr. Lin Zhenggang, Cisco's Global Vice President and President of Greater China, to ECCOM, to express his gratitude for ECCOM's strong support in the past four months after the Wenchuan Earthquake, during which period ECCOM cooperated with the Sichuan Government in providing numerous post-disaster reconstruction assistance. The Letter also fully recognized ECCOM's positive support and cooperation with Cisco in the reconstruction activities in the earthquake-stricken areas.
In the weeks after the disaster, in the project construction process of the donated Cisco TelePresence conference system, ECCOM provided support free of charge, offering good service for Sichuan Telecom users.
In Cisco's "Harmonious Medical Service" assistance Program, A professional team established by ECCOM, has traveled to and from the disaster area many times despite of the perilous long journey to build a medical service network for hospitals, enabling doctors and patients in the disaster area to communicate about group consultation through video.
In the new-generation teaching technology platform assistance of "21st Century Network Schools" as provided by Cisco for the Dujiangyan Middle School, ECCOM has actively responded to the call and donated 90 Lenovo laptops to two schools in the disaster area.
During the whole assistance program, to finish the work efficiently, the ECCOM staff have sacrificed their personal time without any complaint because at this moment, every one wishes to do more for the people in the disaster area.
During these months, ECCOM's sense of corporate responsibility, advanced technology and team spirit have won unanimous praise from Cisco's teams and users. We believe that in the future, ECCOM will uphold its fine style of work consistently and create greater values for the society.
